The Druk Path Trek is the perfect introduction to the Himalayas. It is not too strenuous and yet boasts some of the most beautiful views of the Himalayas.
Like most trekking, the accommodation during the trek is mainly camping in tents. Bhutan does not have any commercial guesthouses along the trekking trail, as many of them are in remote areas and are in environmental regions that are protected from development.
All meals are included and prepared/catered by the cook and staff that will accompany you along the trail throughout the entire trekking period. On the trek you are assisted by your local guide, a cook, 2-3 helping staff/porters depending upon the group size.
The journey starts with a climb up to Jele Dzong. The trek trail ascends gradually up to the camp, and if the weather is clear Paro valley can be seen surrounded by snow capped mountains. Above the camp is Jele La (3400m) and Jele Dzong. There is also a Lhakhang containing a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Overnight at campsite. Altitude 3480m
